The mark that started it all. Before the Z, before the F, before the name Nikon even existed, there was 日本光学 — Nippon Kōgaku. This is that original heritage badge, UV-printed straight onto the latest Nikon Z mount camera cap.
Nikon began life in Tokyo in 1917 as Nippon Kōgaku K.K. — Japan Optical Industries — building rangefinders and microscopes long before it ever made a camera. "NIKKO" was the shorthand for that name. Add an "R" and you get Nikkor, the lens brand registered in 1932. Add an "N" and, in 1946, you get Nikon. The entire identity grew out of this one mark.
For Nikon purists, collectors or just appreciation of the logo history. Printed to order right here in Sydney, Australia.
This isn't a sticker. The design is UV-printed directly into the cap surface and cured solid. It will not peel, fade or lift, and will put up a big fight against scratching it off.
